As you can tell from recent posts I have been making the most of the summer sales, so much so that I have another post dedicated to what I’ve been buying.
John Lewis: just over 40% off
Bosche Tassimo: I have been stalking this little fella for months but I was reluctant to pay extra for the colour I wanted. However, by the time I’d decided to bite the bullet and splash out, this item had been reduced from £129.95 to £98.99 and then reduced even further to £74.95, so as you can imagine I was ecstatic.
I can’t get enough of my new coffee machine and have been enjoying lattes and cappuccinos to my heart’s content. The only problem is I don’t drink much caffeine so after one of these guys I am bouncing off the walls, but at least my productivity has gone through the roof and the house and garden have never looked so good.
This is the first time I’ve ever bought anything from John Lewis and I can’t fault the service as I ordered it on a Saturday morning and it had arrived by 7.45 on the following Monday.
Rituals Indian Rose and Himalaya Honey bath and body: I love Ritual products so when I saw these were half price at House of Fraser I couldn’t wait to get my hands on them. Out of all the products it was the body cream I was looking forward to trying out the most as it smelt amazing in the shop. As a rule I hate anything that smells of roses but I can’t tell you how gorgeous this scent is, although when I asked my husband if I smelt nice he said I smelt like sherbet so I don’t know if that’s a good or bad thing.
I was a little disappointed with the texture of this body cream as it is different to the rice blossom one, which is whipped and so much richer. I find this cream melts instantly on the skin which means it isn’t greasy, but damn it goes down quick. I don’t think this cream will last me very long and I’m already sad about that. I just wish I’d bought the last two tubs! This will definitely be a re-purchase in the future.
Small mirror: I’ve been after a new mirror for ages as I wanted something to apply my make up in the morning. I love the shape and the colour of this one and at £9 it was an absolute bargain considering I was thinking of paying £13 for a plain and boring one out of TK Max. This is so much easier than trying to use my Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick compact and I can’t believe it took me so long to get my act together.
Mac Fluidline in Rich Ground: No sale here I’m afraid, but I did convince myself that I was getting a 2 in 1 product which equals a bargain in my eyes. I originally bought this to use as an eyeshadow base, even though it’s a gel eyeliner, as it’s a beautiful coppery/bronze colour which is very creamy and long lasting. I have used this as a gel eyeliner, but it doesn’t really suit my colouring, which is a shame. However, I will still get a lot of wear out of this as I love to wear it in the crease over my Painterly Paint pot.
What goodies have you picked up lately?
